![]() This change means you will die in one shot. The second change is going to be highly dependent on your skill. You might think it doesn't make a big difference but it really can at times, especially for some of the later levels where the basic ship patterns can be difficult to kill. This can greatly improve killing strategies at the beginning of levels where you are shooting slightly slower. You won't find any additional ones during the level. The Max Fire Rate means you start with all your upgrade pickups already acquired. These two changes have the following meanings. ![]() This ship really can make some levels easier. Limp Berserker is one of the top tier ships (at least for me). This ship will likely help with some of your 'kill all enemies', but the 'no hit' medals will be a bit more difficult. For some enemies, this just means you need to know their shot/attack pattern and when you can make your move. The drawback of this ship is that you need to get in close. Is this ship the best? Probably not, but it's worth your time if your options are limited. Immediately after unlocking the Gladius, I was able to knock out a lot of medals on Insane that had been giving me trouble (leading to a lot of the Insane level achievements). Gladius can easily make you feel super powerful. It's manageable, but it means you need to get in close to attack enemies. If your normal shot range is the whole screen, the Gladius only covers about a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the screen. Shorter Weapon Range: Bullets only go up a little bit from where you fire.Enemies will go down fairly quickly if they even last at all against the barrage of the Gladius. Increased Firepower: The ship hits hard. This makes the Gladius a bit of risk/reward in terms of gameplay. The Gladius has two changes to its attack pattern. The Gladius was a favorite unlock ship early on. This ship can be a good way to practice learning enemy patterns/dodging given that you will be fighting everything for a little longer. I don't have many level specific strategies here since it doesn't make a huge difference. ![]() I recommend only playing the levels the one time for the achievement. Normal difficulty is clearly the best here as well. In general, I'd recommend fully upgrading your attacks before tackling the Ambulance completion. This will greatly change the timing required for defeating bosses (even some of the vanilla enemies). The spread is the same bullets as your normal ship, but some are fired to the left and right at roughly 30 degree angles to your normal shot. The gun for the Ambulance fires in a large spread formation. Instead, this ship has a very big handicap against you. The increased rescue speed is cool for maybe Level 5 if you're playing through it without the guns, but other than that, it doesn't provide a significant improvement when grinding medals. There is one listed change for this ship. The Ambulance is a nice addition, but I can never recommend using it. When you eventually have collected all the parts (40 in total) and thus completed all eight of the collectible ships, you will unlock: This will save you a lot of time and remove the some of the grind for stars. You do not need to separately upgrade the other ships with more stars.
